If you have an issue, posting in the appropriate forum is the best way to get assistance. I stumbled upon this thread while doing a search. I also have a C540 and when I did some Windows 8.1 update recently, the Dolby Advanced Audio v2 program stopped working.
So I downloaded the Realtek Audio driver from this site, and it still doesn't work. I tried a System Restore and I can't do it (error about some file it needs). The sound that is coming out of the C540 is bad. The Dolby v2 sound wasn't all that great either, but it was a little better than what's coming out now. Is there any way to get back the Dolby v2 driver and make it work again? ___________________________________________________________ ♦ Find a post helpful? Now for reasons unknown (I've been uninstalling and reinstalling different drivers), my Dolby Advanced Audio v2 is gone. The folders are still there but they are empty.
It doesn't matter anyway: Even if I had it, it won't play anymore. So I just downloaded the version Lenovo has on their website for the C540 and it's just Realtek HD (ha!) Audio with no Dolby attached. I'm thinking of just getting external USB speakers just so the sound is a little better. I'm not a heavy gamer and I don't watch movies or listen to music heavily on my computer so something that sounds like decent stereo would suffice. But if anyone can figure out this problem, I'd be very grateful!
Thought I should share with these.especially cause I didn't fint it on guru3d and they can be potentially better than default Realtek HD Audio drivers. Feel free to try it anyways.should be compatible with x64-86 Vista/7/8/8.1 and any other onboard Realtek HD audio or built-in Nvidia/ ATI HD audio.maybe with some others built-in HD audio drivers - try for yourself and let us know DOLBY.rar contents: Dolby PCEE Drivers x64.msi Dolby PCEE Drivers x86.msi Dolby Home Theater v4.msi Dolby Advanced Audio v2.msi Installation: 1. Uninstall Realtek HD Audio drivers or NVIDIA or ATI HD Audio drivers. NOTE: For Win 8/8.1, 2. Install 'Dolby PCEE Drivers'. During installation process, choose either 'DAA(release)' for Advanced Audio v2 OR 'DHT(release)' for Home Theater v4. Install either 'Dolby Advanced Audio v2' OR 'Dolby Home Theater v4' depending on the chosen settings previously installed 'Dolby PCEE Drivers'.
